Happy Pongal and Chinese New Year!

Pongal (Tamil: தைப்பொங்கல்) is a harvest festival equivalent to a thanksgiving event celebrated by Tamils across the world.

Pongal in Tamil means "boiling over or spill over." The act of boiling over of milk in the clay pot is considered to denote future prosperity for the family.

Traditionally celebrated at harvest time, it's a celebration of the prosperity associated with the harvest by thanking the rain, sun and the farm animals that have helped in the harvest.

Now, Pongal is not only a traditional celebration. We should know that without workers who cultivate the plants, we could not get the food.

Workers are the one who produce foods and all kind of products. But now they are exploited by the capitalist and capitalism system.

Same to Chinese New Year, Chinese New Year is not only the traditional celebration by Chinese and other ethnics. Chinese New Year (CNY) is to celebrate family gathering. Besides, CNY also celebrated for the winter end and new work start (farmer can start to plant). So, CNY is the day to remember the workers too. Without workers, the development and production are stop.

Last but not least, happy Pongal and Chinese New Year!
